I thought I would share with you my ideas on how to make your own website!
For a website to exist on the internet it needs to be stored on a server. So the first step to getting your own websitge is to find server or home for your website:
Finding a server... :
Providers of website servers are called Web Hosts or Website Host or just Host. There are thousands of hosts on the internet, some charge a fee for 'hosting' your website in their webserver, others are free!
Because you are reading this artile, I can guess you are not ready to buy anything like a webserver or hosting plan, so I will explain some good sites to get 'free host' or 'free server' for your website.
Free hosting providers:
To get a free hosting provider, you need to visit the host's website and apply for free webspace.
The company I recommend are:

Signing up is fast, you will be asked for your username, this will eventually become part of your websites 'domain name' or address, so choose your username carefully.
For example, if you chose a username of : georgescars
Your domain or address would be something like this:
http://georgescars.byethost11.com
or
http://georgescars.co.cc
I have my free hosting account now what ??
You now need to decide what your website will be!
For example, you could create yourself a personal page and customize it to anything you want.
You can design or create your own website page by using a 'web design' program, there are free webdesign software packages, I recommend you download and get :

This program allows you to layout your page's text and pictures into a website, you can use it to make links and advanced page elements like tables to make forms and nice layouts.
If designing your own page from scratch is not your idea of fun, you can install fully functional / ready made website programs called 'scripts'.
These scripts can be installed into your website using a function called the 'fantastico type installer' in your hosting control panel provided by ByetHost.
When you access the 'fantastico type installer' you are presented with a choice of the kinds of scripts you want to install, for example you can install:
A forum or message board A photo gallery A clan members site A blog A wiki like wikipedia and more!
There is a long list of the script you can install with many variations and choices.
Installing each script is a little different, the basics to completing the installation are as follows :
1) Access free hosting VistaPanel 2) Choose Fantastico 3) Choose your script and install it 4) Browse to your website in a browser like FireFox or IE 5) Locate the script you installed and browser to the install page 6) Complete the installation you will be asked for database details.
(All of your database settings are in your free hosting VistaPanel)
